Day 16: half way back out again from Paradise. 🏝️🥾⛰️

Just wanted to start with a picture how the terrain loos from above and aside.. that is the beach we stayed and those rims that we had to cross to get there from the left..

Today we packed our stuff and hit the trail again. Luckily the weather was good again 🌤️! Just FYI: they can close the trails any given moment if the water levels rise too fast and if too dangerous to hike. Than you need to sit out till they open the trails again or you have to be rescued by 🚁  if that will take too long. That happens regulary..🫣

We started and all went well. We also quickly passed Crawlers Ledge before we knew it. It was quiet on the trail. We saw one trail-runner who passed us twice.. a very fit young guy! Who had no trouble in running on the trail like a goat. And yes we also saw the wild goats and some birds! There is not that much wild life actually on land in Hawaii. 
 

Just before we arrived the camp mid way we saw the signs for the waterfall and as we were still fit enough we decider to hike it with our full backpack. The trail was actually more challenging than the original trail, and it took for ever to reach the waterfall. The fall was beautiful and very high. Of course we were naughty and had a swim in the ‘lake’ of the fall. Before we hit back down again to make camp. 
 

Finding a good camp spot was a challenge here. Also there was not really much else to do. So we made camp and crawled in the tent very early, as we tried to ignore the roots of the trees under our tent and mattresses.. We watched a movie on Netflix.. yes i know. But it was really cosy and nice in the tent and had our sandwiches for dinner. We slept before 19:00..
